Born in Messina in 1678, Filippo Juvarra is probably the most famous engineer and architect of Turin (together with Antonelli). He was called to the royal court by Vittorio Amedeo II in 1714 and appointed premier architect of the Royal House. As such Juvarra gave Turin a full make over.
